We are Clive and Gill Whittall, an Englishman and his Welsh Dragon wife, who discovered a love for finding, buying and selling "old stuff" after both having previously had lifetime careers in retail management and the voluntary sector nationally across the UK. It all started with visits to local auctions to buy antique furniture, for restoration, for our home. We started to buy and sell a few other vintage items and before long, a shared interest soon turned from being an interesting pastime into a 'hobby business'.
We love to scour local auctions, looking for the hidden gems in job lots and house clearances. We never start out with a plan, we are just led by what catches our eye. We research and learn along the way, which for us is the most interesting and rewarding part of what we do. Between us, we have a range of woodworking, sewing and general crafting skills which we use to to repair, restore, repurpose, upcycle, or sometimes simply dust, polish and re-home the things we find. No two days are the same !
We work from our home on the mid-Wales & Shropshire border, (sometimes helped by our dogs Amy and Buddy!) When we're not working or crafting, we love any type of vintage events and can't resist the chance to dress up in period clothes, usually to the embarrassment of our children, but that's part of the fun!
